Christian leadership is not proven by how long we hold power, but by how faithfully we steward it. Scripture honors age, wisdom, and experience, yet also calls leaders to prepare others, release control, and finish well. In Christ, stepping aside is not disappearance. Our worth does not come from a title, a platform, or being indispensable.

If the fear is genuinely true — if a congregation really would collapse the moment one leader stepped down — that isn't an argument for staying. It's the clearest evidence available that staying has already gone on too long.
